Mentoring is the process of guiding individuals reach their full potential motivating and developing their skills, knowledge, confidence and values. It is a supportive relationship where experienced mentors (teachers) guide the less experienced mentees (students), helping them overcome challenges and grow professionally, academically and personally.

  • Create an inclusive and competitive learning environment for all students.
  • Familiarize students with the institute’s culture while helping them unlock their full potential acquiring quality education.
  • Establish open and effective communication between the mentor and the mentees for academic and administrative support.
  • Cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing, inspiration, strong ethical values, and a lifelong commitment to learning.

The Process:

Each Mentor is responsible for guiding and instructing certain number of mentees assigned to the Mentor. The Mentor-Mentee groups are fixed for the entire duration of the programme.

A mentor is more than just an advisor; they're friends who wants to see the students grow and succeed. Mentors are patient, understanding, wise and caring. A mentor, in essence, plays seven key roles: teacher, sponsor, advisor, agent, role model, coach, and confidante. He/she guides and supports the mentees in their personal and professional development. Mentors are there to help the Mentees with academic as well as their personal goals, ensuring that each Mentee has full support he/she needs. They help mentees thrive and also get through their hard times.

Each mentor sets up periodic meetings with the mentees, guiding them overcome their inhibition inviting for an open discussion. It is through discussions and various activities that the issues faced by the mentees, individually or in group, are solved. The mentor maintains a written, confidential record of the meetings and the issues discussed, together with his/her remarks and the action/solution suggested. In cases where an issue is not possible to be solved at the mentor level, the matter is taken up with the higher/appropriate authority. The mentors records are referred when requested by the relevant authorities.
